Trained to Survive.
Honoring Arizona’s Firefighters
Arizona’s firefighters are more than responders—they are protectors, problem-solvers, and survivors. Whether battling raging wildfires in the desert and forests or navigating smoke-filled buildings in urban rescues, they adapt, endure, and save lives.
Through rigorous training, rapid response, and unwavering commitment, these heroes stand between disaster and safety, protecting homes, businesses, and entire communities. Their ability to stay prepared and survive the most extreme conditions defines the heart of modern firefighting.
The 2025 United Fire Firefighter of the Year Award recognizes the most extraordinary acts of bravery, leadership, and selfless service performed by Arizona firefighters.
