Payson Fire Department
Since joining the Payson Fire Department in 1995, paramedic Dawn Zurcher has been dedicated to making her Arizona community safer and more caring. Passionate about education and volunteerism, she helped create Payson’s first school program on fire safety and injury prevention and engages children as “Edith the Clown” at community events. Dawn also founded a neighborhood cleanup program, participates in fundraising events like wheelchair basketball tournaments, and developed a program to install smoke detectors in homes. Recognizing the importance of mental health for emergency personnel, she established the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Program, exemplifying her commitment to safety, service, and teamwork.
