Bob Weber: 2008

Lake Havasu City Fire Dept

Bob Weber began his fire service career in 1956 as a Volunteer Firefighter with the West Bend, Wisconsin Fire Department, rising through the ranks to become a Fire Chief and Emergency Services Director in Arizona. Over his 22 years with the Lake Havasu Fire Department, he transformed an all-volunteer department into a four-station, professional, full-service organization, incorporating certified paramedics, fire inspectors, arson investigators, and hazardous material technicians. Weber also established a groundbreaking fire and police dispatch center operated by the fire department. Beyond his local contributions, he served on state and county committees focused on fire codes, emergency planning, and response, and was an active member of the Arizona State Fire Training Committee for 30 years.

Internationally recognized, Weber represented the fire service as a Citizen Ambassador Delegate to over 20 countries and led a delegation of fire officials to China. He also participated in a management team aiding Armenia’s recovery from a devastating earthquake in 1988. A recipient of the Arizona Fire Chiefs’ Lifetime Achievement Award, Weber’s legacy includes countless accolades and a lasting impact on fire service excellence, both locally and globally.
